Our Story
All Kerala Tiles & Sanitaryware Dealers Association is formed in the year 2006 at Trichur on 26th of July, Association is based in Cochin and have a functioning district committee in all 14 districts of Kerala. Rich enough with a strength of 1500 members contributing nearly 3500 million annual turnover employing more than 5000 to 20,000 directly and indirectly.
Our major achievements are;
- The tax rate was reduced from 20% to 12%
- Tax was raised from 4% to 8% in the compounding of works contract and also any goods brought into the State has to suffer the prevailing tax in the State.
- Delivery Notes for the movement of tiles abolished
- A reasonable bench mark on tiles was fixed for advance tax purpose.
- The move to fix the advance tax on tiles at MRP was stalled
- Broke the cartels formed by the container trailer operators by approaching the Competition Commission of India and various petitions before the Govt.
- Our members are included in the State Level and District Level Vat Grievance Cells.
- We have been representing before the Central Excise for shifting the Service Tax liability on freight payable on Goods Transport by road.
- Above all a better coordination and unity was created among our members throughout the State.
What We Offer
This Association is always vigilant against any new rules in Taxation, Labour etc which are detrimental to our day to day functioning.
However we have to collectively work to remove the following difficulties still prevailing:
• Service Tax liability on road freight.
• Interact with Commercial Tax Dept to prevent huge demands raised on technical grounds.
• To get the subsidy announced by the Central & State Govts for using the Coastal Shipping.
Mission
The Association derives its strength from approximately 1500 members. The leadership will strive to look after the professional and financial interests of its members and at the same time will be committed to the conduct of the business keeping in view the social obligations at large. The Association will try to enforce better trading practices amongst its members and will work earnestly to regain the business lost to direct marketing and e commerce. Our mission is to bring back the trade to the trade establishments.

To capture the faith and allegiance of the complete dealers in Sanitarywares, tiles, C P Fittings and other plumbing materials in the State of Kerala numbering more than 1500 outlets.

Our Strength
This Association has the strength of 1500 members with an estimated turnover of Rs 3500 million annually, employing directly a total of 5000 employees and indirectly about 10000. The Association members have premises in all the major cities and towns of Kerala having a covered space of more than a 10 million sft for display and storage. The Association has 1500 senior managers who possess the skills of the best of IIM graduates. These senior managers have a proven track record of more than 15000 man years. They have worked under the most stringent and adverse legal and social conditions.
